Lightweight, all-weather, all-purpose low shoe

The Speed Assault 2 has a clear requirement profile: fast movements and changes of motion, abrupt sequences and use on all kinds of surfaces, whether sandy, stony, slippery, wet or dry, it should serve reliably. A light weight, stability in the ankle and good moisture management are therefore the most important features of the update of the popular operational low shoe.

With a sole that is reliably grippy, whether in the desert, in the jungle or on asphalt, and thanks to the manufacturing of non-reflective materials that do not weigh you down even in wet conditions, the half-shoe is a functional factor in the most diverse operational scenarios.

Upper and ankle

For the intended use of the operational shoe in situations with fast reaction times and abrupt movements, the Speed 2 Assault was designed with a protective mid-cut with ankle support. The seamless Lycra upper with a high stretch content provides an almost custom fit and a comfortable feel while supporting the ankle; especially in loose terrain, this can counteract abrasions and bruises on the ankles or an unstable stance.

The cushioning of the Salomon Speed Assault 2 is provided by Energy-Cell, a high-performance EVA foam that can absorb steps and impacts in the best possible way.

Lightweight material

Because use in and around water or in rainy areas can be a problem, Salomon has worked with particularly light and quick-drying materials for the Speed Assault 2. The nylon fibre used is reinforced to prevent tearing or abrasion and the shoe has a robust and durable structure.

Outsole and grip

The well-known and proven Contagrip has a varied relief and the Space Chevron lugs offer great grip on any terrain and surface. Whether on loose, soft, rough or uneven surfaces, the varying depth and sharp lugs with multi-directional grip bring a balance of durability and grip.

Insole

For uncomplicated and quick use, the shoe is closed with Quicklace System, which allows for a minimalistic as well as robust lacing with one pull.
